Cinderford Town lose 2-1 to Shortwood

The Cinderford players will wonder how they lost this game.
Cinderford outplayed Shortwood   for nearly the entire match but came out losing 2-1.
No one in the Cinderford team had a bad game, just the Shortwood keeper had a better game, making some great saves to keep out Lee Smith, Scott Wilson and Jack Camm.

Cinderford Town through to the next round RIC

Cinderford Town beat Yate Town 2-1 on Tuesday night to go through to the next round of the Red Insure Cup.
With Cinderford missing top goal scorer Scott Wilson and winger Matt Barnes through suspension, Geraint Bater leaving to play for Yate Town, Danny Haines injured, Craig Tait and Nick Hancock  give football a break, Steve Peters was so short of players he named himself on the bench!!
Some good news Jack Camm was back playing for Cinderford after leaving the club before the, start of the season to get reqular football, hopefully hes back to play every week as his energy as been missed.
Also Josh Emery as re signed for Cinderford, the attacking midfielder joined Cinderford at the back end of last season from Stourport Swifts, the highly rated midfielder never got a chance to show what he could do with a few late sub appearances , another quality addition to the squad.
Geraint Bater played for Yate in the game.

Game against Poole Town is OFF

Todays game with Poole Town is OFF.

No surprise that todays game as been called off after all the bad weather over the last few days.
With a thread bare squad this may have come to a relief to Steve Peters as he will have time to get players back to fitness and maybe some more players in.

Even though there is no game today it is led to believe that Steve Peters will not let the players have today off but will have them in for training today.

Poole Town v Cinderford Town

This Saturday see Cinderford Town travel to Dorest to play Poole Town.
Poole sit 3rd in the league with games in hand over the two teams above them,  last league game they beat 10 man Merthyr 3-2 then lost to local rivals in the mid weeke red insure cup game 3-0.

Cinderford who are in 8th place will be hoping they can repeat the 2nd half performance on Saturday which they came back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 with Didcot.
Steve Peters will have a thread bare squad to pick from and only Lee Smith as the Available striker.
Matt Barnes and top goal scorer Scott Wilson will miss the game through suspension, Lewis Sommers will also be out due to injury he picked up against Didcot, Danny Haines and Matt Smith still doubts through injury and with Geraint Bater leaving the club this week to sign for Yate  , Steve Peters may struggle to fill the bench.
The weather looks bad for the weekend so the the game may get cancelled  which would give time for some of the injuries to recover and for Peters to bring in some much needed players.

Poole Town v Cinderford Town Sat 24th 3pm KO

Peters - We are all striving for the same goal

Steve Peters as replied to some of the Questions been asked by Supporters on the Unofficial forum.

Good Morning All

After this recent thread, I think I should post my first reply. Firstly, please do not take everything in the paper as literal, a boring story, does not make a story. I would like to add, believe me that Danny and I both expect to go out and win every game we play in, from the management team to the players, supporters, committee and chairman we are all striving towards the same goal. I really am not happy losing football matches, and believe that we have a squad that should be pushing for promotion this season, we have a great squad of talented footballers, that during every training session and match give me and the club 100% effort and commitment. My point in the paper should have read, we are not going to win every match we play in, as much as we all want that to happen. We play in a very good league with teams that can beat each other on any given day. But I agree, on certain days we should be doing better than what we have.

I would also like to add that I thoroughly encourage our fans forum, where our great supporters can view their opinions and thoughts whether positive or negative. As Daver has just mentioned, football is a wonderful game where we can all have our individual opinions and thoughts, and none of us will agree 100% . Throughout the season, some of my decisions I will get right, some I get wrong, but I do not work in hindsight, so I make my decisions and will stand by them, some team selections are forced due to injuries, suspensions, fitness levels, and some are down to mine and Danny's opinions, but please please please believe me, my players and I all believe and are striving towards winning promotion for our great club. This may or may not happen this season, but we will give it a dame good go, only time will tell.

Apologies for rambling, but one last thing, you boys that make the noise and sing your songs behind the goal give us a massive boost home and away, it is massively appreciated by myself and the boys. We seem to be one of very few clubs that have a singing fan base.

all the best

The Manager
